JUNE DUPREZ
Alluring British leading lady June Duprez (pronounced "Doo-PRAY") was the daughter of music-hall headliner Fred Duprez. Still in her teens, Duprez began appearing in films around 1936. She rose to stardom under the aegis of producer Alexander Korda, her radiant beauty (made even more so by the Technicolor process) gracing such top-flight productions as The Four Feathers (1939) and The Thief of Baghdad (1940). In Hollywood from 1944 onward, Duprez played opposite Cary Grant in None But the Lonely Heart (1944) and Louis Hayward in And Then There Were None (1945). June Duprez retired from films in 1947; she appeared onstage with the American Repertory Theatre before making a movie comeback in the cheapjack U.S.-Canadian Exploring the Kinsey Reports (1961). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
