CRESSIDA
The story of Troilus and Cressida is a medieval invention and does not appear in any Greek legends. The best known versions are Geoffrey Chaucer's poem Troilus and Criseyde, Robert Henryson's poem The Testament of Cresseid and William Shakespeare's play Troilus and Cressida (c. 1603). In the original version of the story in the Roman de Troie the romance was attached to Briseida. It is Boccaccio who makes the decisive shift in name in Il Filostrato
